Provides reimbursement so nutritious meals can be offered to children in non-profit or for-profit nonresidential child care centers; Head Start centers; outside-of-school-hours child care programs; and homeless shelters.

| Child and Adult Care - Day Care Homes |
|
Provides reimbursement to licensed and license-exempt family day care homes through a sponsoring organization. This provides the family day care home with cash assistance to serve nutritious meals to children enrolled in their day care.

School-Based Child Nutrition Programs include the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, Special Milk, Afterschool Snack, and Illinois Free Lunch and Breakfast Programs.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was instituted to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer months when school is not in session.
